About the event

Redwood Bar & Grill Presents CMA of Texas Americana Artist of the Year Trashy Annie LIVE at her LA Debut on May 7th along with BLVD  Of Eyes (featuring Chloe Trujillo)  and Unsound Sunday (featuring Sal Rodriguez of the band WAR on drums!)

"I am SO excited to bring my Austin-based rock band Trashy Annie to Los Angeles for the first time on May 7th. As if playing in LA weren’t exciting enough, I get to share the stage with another badass rocker Chloe Trujillo, who is an artist and an inspiration on so many levels.

Rock and roll has always been an outlet for those of us who believe in being ourselves, pushing boundaries, storming castles, wearing what we want, loving who we love, and blazing our own paths no matter what anybody else has to say about it.

This will be a night to remember, full of great music and badass, talented people showing the world that rock and roll will never die!!! Long live rock n roll baby!!!" - Annie Davis, Lead vocals of Trashy Annie

More about Trashy Annie:

Rising star, award-winning songwriter and force of nature Annie Davis is a genre-blending mix of Joan Jett, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift and the Go-Go’s with a side 80’s Hair Metal, 90’s Alt-Rock and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, resulting in the most original new artist in years!

The band’s debut album, Sticks & Stones was released in May 2023 by indie powerhouse Cleopatra Records and includes the award-winning song “Somethin’ in the Water” and crowd favorites “‘Bama”, “God Save the Queen”, and “Born Pretty”. Sticks & Stones was submitted for Grammy consideration by The Recording Academy, and continues to garner critical acclaim for Annie’s innovative ability to blend story-driven country roots with heart-pounding rock and roll.

What the press is saying:

"This sure ain't Taylor Swift or Lady A type of country. This is as edgy, darker, and even grubbier than Ashley McBryde or early Kasey Musgraves ever went...and I bloody love it!" -Rockin Magpie

"My new favorite 'Alt-pop' hero Annie Davis. Love this lady's vibe, fabulous vocals, and stuff way outside the box where the magic is." -Michael Spriggs, Guitar, composer, producer for Trace Adkins, Kenny Rogers, LeAnn Rimes, Townes Van Zandt, Colt Ford, and many more

"Her songs, rich with a powerful mix of graceful imagery and lyrical intonation are melodic, spirited, soaked in sorrow, courageous and inspiring ." -Mary Minter Director, CMA of Texas

”Annie’s stage presence mirrors that of Janis Joplin, Grace Slick and Joan Jett while being uniquely her. That’s what I love about her. Equal parts diamonds and dirt.” Holly Hammet, Our Generation Radio

Come join the party!

Trashy Annie will make you laugh, cry, dance, sing along and wonder where in the hell this band came from. In the words of their fans “You simply CANNOT leave a Trashy Annie show in a bad mood. It’s physically impossible!”

"As an artist, truthful self-expression as always been my motto! And breaking the rules, redefining the old belief that you have to be a certain gender, a certain age or dressed a certain way to be able to do this or that....Excited to play May 7th with another badass female artist who shares the same ideals! It's what rock n'roll is all about!! "- CHLOE TRUJILLO

Born in Paris, France Chloe has immersed herself in the Art/Music world from a young age. Her music is infused with anything from Rap, Metal, Gypsy & Blues. She first got her Visa through performing in NYC in Cabarets & Musical Theater. From there she was invited to LA by Gail Zappa to record the Frank Zappa cover ‘The Torture never stops’ . Chloe is also Wife of Robert Trujillo of Metallica/Suicidal Tendencies. Mark who is originally from New Zealand, made the move to Australia and started Rock outfit ‘Bellusira’ who went on to release two notable albums and move to America briefly under management from Will Hunt (Evanescence). The band toured USA a few times and had Koichi Fukuda from Static-X take over Guitar duties. Once that project came to an end, Mark decided to stay in America and continue his musical pursuit. Both parties meet in early 2021 when asked to be a part of the Global Green Charity Event held at the Troubadour in LA. After connecting online and having a mutual respect for each other’s music, they suggested the idea of doing a collaboration on a song. The track ‘Lightning Strikes Twice’ was the result of that collab. and the feedback was strong from it and they both enjoyed working on the project together. In 2022 they would release their debut EP ‘HEAVY PEACE’ , which helped gain the project more attention. After the release of the record they went straight back into the studio to work on the second record, with the help of Ray Luzier (Korn) on drums. In addition, they have put together a live band and have started playing shows in early 2024 and are quickly building momentum. The live band consists of local guitarist Kevin Hicklin and Chloe’s daughter Lullah Trujillo on drums."
