New Music Friday! Veterans Day Special
Honoring those who have served in the U.S. armed forces, Thank you.
Good music always puts a smile on my face and is a great way to start your day. I hope you enjoy the feel-good tunes of 7Horse band.

My music clients tend to be on the heavier "METAL" side, but recently I have had the pleasure to work with Blues/rock powerhouse 7Horse, comprised of longtime musical partners Phil Leavitt and Joie Calio, who performed their first live show in over two years at the famed Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood on November 4th, 2022.
The packed show kicked off the release of their latest album “The Last Resort”
The album was brought to life via video representations of the album's art and concepts and celebrated the tenth anniversary of 7Horse.
“LA has been the home base for our music for three decades,” Leavitt has shared in regard to playing the Roxy Theatre. “The Roxy has special significance as it’s where things really got started for us. it's like home.”

Fans describe 7Horse as a “Post-punk dystopian blues”—because Leavitt and Calio have been playing together for 30 years, first as original members of the alt/rock trio Dada. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the release of Dada’s debut album, “Puzzle” (1992 IRS Records) which spawned the hit single and MTV video “Dizz Knee Land.” 7Horse further cemented its reputation when Martin Scorsese featured their song “Meth Lab Zoso Sticker” in The Wolf of Wall Street. Over the years, Leavitt and Calio have rubbed shoulders with numerous musical legends. Amongst their many collaborations, they have toured with Sting, recorded with Ringo Starr, and worked with other musical household names on the production side.

Despite 7Horse’s uncanny ability to synthesize influences as diverse as 60s – 70s monsters The Rolling Stones and The Doors, seminal bluesmen Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and Johnny Winter, and proto-art rockers Lou Reed and David Bowie, the band keeps one foot firmly rooted in the Blues. Living at the nexus of cosmic country and down-and-dirty blues, 7Horse has consistently sought to create new musical forms and sonic pathways. “This is all about riffs and groove,” Leavitt says about the band’s quest to tap into rock and roll’s rich and varied past. “It’s about laying something down that’s so good you want to hear it forever.” Calio put it this way: “When 7Horse happened, it was like throwing gasoline on a fire.”
